The combination of warm milk, yeast, and melted butter creates a soft dough that rises well and yields a tender, chewy texture once baked.

Why is the dough boiled in a baking soda bath before baking?

Briefly boiling the dough balls in a baking soda solution develops the characteristic pretzel crust and enhances their golden color and flavor.

Can I substitute the cheeses used in the filling?

Yes, mozzarella can be swapped with Gruyère or cheddar for a different flavor profile, offering a unique twist to the creamy filling.

How should the wreath be served for best enjoyment?

Serve the wreath warm and encourage pulling apart the individual pretzel bites, highlighting the creamy cheese center and fresh garnishes.

Are there garnish options to complement the wreath?

Fresh parsley and halved cherry tomatoes add a vibrant garnish, while serving with honey mustard or spicy cheese dip enhances flavor contrast.
